CARBON: BLACK LAND

Jó voltál, de az Élet Nagy Lánca megmászásra vár.
///
You were good, but The Great Chain of Being is yet to be conquered.

The poem in the upper left is "Black Land" by Mihály Babits. The verse repeatedly features the word "black", however, it has no racial connotations here. It is merely a strong shade Babits uses to convey his rich imagination, and it potentially symbolises utter hopelessness.

In the INCARNATIONS visual media series, our hero journeys through the various planes of existence. These stages are dedicated to Carbon (ignorance), Graphite (survival functionality), Blood (existential realisation), Pearl (benevolence), Gold (talent), Diamond (outstanding individuality), and Fire (release of tendencies, decay); only for the circle to start again, yet the soul somewhat changes. Each piece combines photo manipulation with graphic design. They may present as album artworks, magazine covers, and posters to fulfil the aesthetic expectations of functional art.
